Toddlers
"I can do it myself!"
Our toddler class offers children 18 months to 2.5 years opportunities to develop focus and independence with supportive teachers. In a classroom designed to nurture their cognitive growth and physical development, our learning spaces are designed to feel like home with various activity zones for snack preparation, social activities, getting dressed and curling up with a book for a quiet moment.
Program Highlights
- Develop self-esteem and independence through language skills development. When toddlers can communicate, they feel empowered.
- Learn math concepts by integrating learning into everyday activities like helping teachers measure ingredients, pour water, and sort materials.
- Stimulate brain development and muscle coordination through music and movement lessons. Children learn songs from around the world, enriching their cultural experiences.
Toddler program tuition rates now starting at $1,775/month.
Preschool
"I made a friend!"
Children become more social and curious from ages 2.5 – 4 years. For this age group, Bloomsbury Academy has a unique approach to “playful instruction” which builds a strong foundation for reading, math, and science by nurturing children’s capacity to focus. Our teachers provide carefully planned learning programs that enrich preschoolers’ growing curiosity about the world around them.
Program Highlights
- Children develop phonics-based understanding of language and sounds together to build words and begin learning about sight-words.
- How much? – How many? – How far? Our early math program balances children’s natural interest in concepts like time and distance.
- Guided by their teachers, children work extensively with concrete materials such as bead chains, numeracy blocks, and sorting trays, to support the abstract math reasoning that will come in their primary school years.
Preschool program tuition rates now starting at $1,725/month.
Kindergarten
"I'm learning to read!"
For children ages 4 to 6, our focus is school readiness for future academic success and a smooth transition to primary school. The Kindergarten program focuses on building positive peer relationships, self-regulation, perseverance, and problem-solving skills. Children’s natural inclination to role play allows rich opportunities for collaborative learning that integrate a range of subject areas.
Program Benefits
- Learn to count and recognize numbers up to 20. Expanding their understanding of pattern, sequence, shapes and spatial awareness.
- Develop confidence in the skills needed for a successful transition to Grade One. Parents are encouraged to support children’s learning by practising “everyday math” and reading together regularly.
- Teachers support children’s growing interest in reading material by encouraging reading simple words and recognizing “word families” and rhymes - bat, cat, mat.
